Into the Future
Once you are enrolled in a Medicare Supplement plan, a Medicare Advantage plan or a Prescription Drug plan, you will be automatically renewed each year in that plan without regard to your health, provided- you pay your premiums on time. Medicare Part A is free to most people however, Medicare Part B premiums need to be paid. You also need to pay your premiums for your Medigap plan, and your Prescription Drug plan or your Medicare Advantage plan (if it has a premium).
Medicare Part D
Your Prescription Drug Plan renews automatically each year if you take no action to switch it. But, over time, your health changes and you may stop taking one medicine or begin taking another. The Part D plan you enrolled in this year may not be the best fit next year.
We can help you re-evaluate your Part D plan each year to find the most cost effective means of filling your prescriptions. The time to do this is during the Annual Election Period
which occurs October 15th to December 7th
each year. Any changes you make will become effective on the following January 1st.
Medicare Supplement Plans
Medigap plans will also be renewed each year for life, despite any health problems you may develop. Again, this is true so long as
you timely pay your premiums. Medigap premiums will also increase over time but, they won't increase due to your specific health issues.
Medigap plans are offered by private insurance companies. The coverage provide under each plan is standardized. However, the premiums charged by each company is based on specific factors that vary from company to company and market to market. The exact same plan can be priced differently among companies. We help you choose the best plan for your budget and help you switch plans if its available.
Medicare Advantage Plans
Companies offering Medicare Advantage plans work with Medicare Services to make improvements and changes to their plans. Different offerings target individuals with certain healthcare needs and take into account local healthcare providers. Therefore it is prudent to reevaluate your specific plan each year to see if any changes are advisable. During the Annual Election Period
we work with you to evaluate and recommend other available options. Remember, our loyalty is with you, our customers.
Movin' On
Sometimes a move to another area might trigger a re-evaluation. A particular plan may be competitive in one part of the country but, not in another. Sometimes, the laws affecting Medicare and Medigap Plans change. Existing plans are removed from the market and new plans are offered in their place. It may then be advantageous to switch plans if you're healthy enough to do so. The more we know about your situation and the life changes you make, the more effective we can be in assisting you.
